Altun Ha Maya  Ruin Tour

A Half day out, this is an excellent example of the balance between the Archaeology and Natural History that Belize has to offer.

Located 35 miles from Belize City on the Old Northern Highway, Altun Ha (Rock Stone Water) is a great example of a Maya ceremonial and trading site. With two large plazas surrounded by temples that tourist can climb to enjoy the magnificent view. It was here that Dr. David Pendergast was to uncover what is considered to be perhaps the most precious of all Mayan artifacts, the Jade Head representing Kinich Ahau the Sun God.
