Lamanai River Tour

A combination of river and ruins. From Belize City it's 50 miles by road to Orange walk where the tour takes to the water. The New River winds itself through a rich haven of flora, fauna & wildlife.

Journey's end brings us to a spectacular lagoon, where resting on the banks, the hint of a temple top can be seen above the rainforest canopy. Lamanai (submerged crocodile) is one of the larger Maya Sites in Belize, and lies nestled in the forest. Trails between each temple and plaza reveal more natural wonders such as Howler Monkeys. Their impressive roar echoes around the area, but are to be enjoyed rather than feared, as a unique primeval atmosphere is created around those wondrous monuments to the Maya.
